The Chemistry Graduate Student Society (CGSS) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver strives to foster cooperation and interaction among chemistry graduate students, as well as between students, faculty, and staff in the department. We organize a variety of social events throughout the year, such as weekly Coffee Time, frequent stressbusters, summer BBQs, and more. Some of our larger events include:
- the Welcome BBQ and Poster Session (September)
- the Annual Holiday Skits and Departmental Luncheon (December)
- Valentine’s Day Candy-Grams (February)
We also organize several bake sales to raise money for charity each year. Let us know if you have any suggestions for events that we can host to support your graduate school experience.
We encourage all chemistry graduate students to get involved by participating in our events and joining our council.
