Fair PharmaCare

Fair PharmaCare is a program that helps BC residents to pay for certain prescription drugs and medical supplies. This program is helpful for coverage of expensive prescriptions for chronic health conditions that are not covered by the AMS/GSS Health & Dental Plan, which covers up to 80% of eligible prescriptions.

To apply, an application can be submitted online. You will be asked to provide information from your Canadian tax return from the previous year to demonstrate your need.

If you are an international student and would like to apply, you must have a social insurance number (SIN) and MSP coverage. If, as an international student, you have not yet filed tax returns, you need to complete an income review application. You will also need to contact MSP (604-683-7151) to request a ‘Notarized Affidavit’ form be sent to you by mail or fax. This form asks you to include any income from outside of Canada in the past year. It will need to be taken to a notary to be stamped (there is a notary on Alma between Broadway and 10th; there will be a fee), and then the form can be sent back to MSP at the following address:
