Campaign Introduction:
Hello UBC chemistry graduate students, both old and new! The chemistry department has shifted over the past couple years due to the pandemic and the CGSS has innovated new ways to bring us graduate students together in light of our situation.
I have been a part of this inventive team for two years, initially as a Member at Large helping organize social events, and this past year I was the Treasurer, where I was responsible for maintaining the CGSS budget. I also played a supporting role in planning and implementing the new social events that the CGSS hosted during this past year of social distancing. These two years have shown me the importance of bonding and creating memories with your peers.
We are at a time where the world is slowly returning to normal. If elected as President, I will continue working towards bringing all chemistry graduate students together by hosting beloved traditions such as Stressbusters and Skits, while adding in some new favourites that arose from the last year. My experience from serving on the CGSS council has given me the skills and knowledge necessary to lead the executive team to have a successful 2021-2022 year where we can create memories that we will remember for years to come!
