Join us for the ChEMMYS on Decemeber 4th as the CGSS hosts an awards show to celebrate the ‘quality’ programming produced right here in the department. The stores giveaway will begin promptly at 12:30pm, and as usual free snacks and ‘BEvERages’ will be provided.

Calling all Gingerbread Architects and Candy-House Designers!
Does your group want a chance to redeem itself after the Pumpkin Carving Contest? Do you have a passion for icing and molasses-based cookies? Reserve a gingerbread decorating kit with either Donny (dmmayder@chem.ubc.ca) or Henry (henryw@chem.ubc.ca) before Dec 1st. Again, the winner will get bragging rights for a whole year and a pizza party for their group.

We will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to work with Brian Ditchburn, our very own talented glassblower, to make some icicle ornaments. Names will be drawn on Dec 4 at Skits and you will be working with him within the following two weeks. This is a great chance to bring home something special for mum and dad or for when relatives ask “what do you do at grad school?”

The CGSS Presents: Glow-in-the-Dark Bowling Icebreaker!
When: Friday November 24th 2017, 7:00PM – 8:30PM
Where: Grandview Lanes, 2195 Commercial Drive
Cost: $5.00
There will be PIZZA and good vibes! Everyone is welcome… but there’s a catch – you have to bring at least one first-year graduate student with you! If you’re a first-year graduate student, just bring yourself! We’re hoping to get more first-year students out and about.
Be sure to email our first year rep Mostafa (mhagar@chem.ubc.ca) if you’re planning on going, so we can figure out how many lanes we’re going to need.
